About the Project:

PCI India is implementing the DEWEE (Decentralized Energy for Women’s Economic Empowerment) and SAVE (Sustainable Agriculture Value-chain Emissions) projects in Bihar to strengthen climate-resilient livelihoods among women and small producers. Together, these initiatives focus on enabling women-led enterprises, SHGs, and farmer collectives to adopt decentralized renewable energy, climate-sensitive agricultural practices, and sustainable value-chain models. The projects work closely with government systems, community institutions, and private partners to enhance incomes, reduce climate vulnerability, and promote low-carbon, locally anchored growth pathways. In Bihar, DEWEE and SAVE contribute to building resilient rural economies by integrating clean energy access, women’s economic leadership, and adaptive livelihood solutions at scale.

Experience Required:

  • The candidate must have a Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Climate Studies, Renewable Energy, Rural Development, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum five years of progressive experience in climate action, renewable energy, sustainability, or green livelihoods, with demonstrated leadership in program strategy and execution.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and scale innovative models that connect climate resilience with inclusive economic development.
  • Strong track record of forging high-value partnerships with government departments, CSR leaders, private sector actors, and donor institutions.
  • Experience in policy engagement and convergence building, with demonstrated success in influencing agendas and aligning programs with state or national priorities.
  • Familiarity with the development and sustainability ecosystem in Bihar (Understanding of National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM)/ State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs), rural development programs and community-based institutions such as SHGs, FPOs, or collectives is desirable.), and ability to leverage local insights into actionable strategies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in donor engagement, proposal development, and program positioning.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and representation skills, with the capacity to build trust, influence decision-makers, and represent the organization in high-level forums.
  • Prior exposure to donor-funded projects and knowledge of reporting protocols will be considered a plus.

  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking with the ability to connect climate action to livelihoods, gender equity, and systemic resilience.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with proven ability to work effectively across government, corporates, donors, and civil society.
  • Ability to influence policy discussions and represent programs in high-level forums with credibility and thought leadership.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills to position programs, showcase impact, and strengthen organizational visibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder partnerships and drive results in dynamic environments.
  • Entrepreneurial and adaptive mindset, with the capacity to innovate and scale sustainable solutions in new geographies.
  • Commitment to inclusive development, sustainability, and gender equity as core values.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Hindi or local languages is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel across project states as needed.

Based in Patna, the role will serve as the organization’s lead interface with government, CSR leaders, and ecosystem partners, ensuring that programs are not only impactful on the ground but also scalable and sustainable. Specifically, the position will:

  • Strategic Program Development
    • Lead the design and execution of innovative climate and sustainability interventions with a focus on scalability and measurable impact.
    • Identify and leverage opportunities for renewable energy adoption, green livelihoods, and climate-resilient enterprise models.
    • Ensure all programs are evidence-driven and aligned with PCI India’s broader mission.
  • Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build and sustain strong partnerships with CSR leaders, government agencies, private sector actors, and donor institutions.
    • Co-create high-value programs through resource leveraging, technical collaboration, and convergence building.
    • Serve as PCI’s focal point for climate-related engagement in Bihar.
  • Policy Alignment & Ecosystem Building
    • Engage with state government departments and local governance bodies to align interventions with policy frameworks and state priorities.
    • Actively participate in state and national forums, strengthening PCI India’s thought leadership and visibility.
    • Drive ecosystem partnerships to ensure interventions are embedded within wider development systems.
  • Innovation & Thought Leadership
    • Track global and national trends in climate action, green finance, and decentralized renewable energy to inform PCI’s portfolio.
    • Represent PCI India in conferences, working groups, and sectoral platforms, showcasing program learnings and impact.
    • Contribute to building PCI’s reputation as a knowledge leader in climate and sustainability.
  • Organizational Positioning & Impact Communication
    • Strengthen PCI India’s visibility in Bihar by shaping narratives, showcasing outcomes, and building trusted networks.
    • Collaborate with communications teams to generate stories of change, knowledge products, and donor visibility content.
    • Support resource mobilization by contributing to proposal development, donor pitches, and external engagements.

Recruitment Process:
