About the Project

JEEViKA Didi Ki Rasoi (J-DKR), an initiative of JEEViKA (Bihar Rural Livelihoods Mission), sets up community-based canteens across Bihar that serve quality, hygienic, homely meals to institutions such as hospitals, schools and government offices, as well as individual customers. The canteens are fully owned and operated by rural women (Didis) from Self-Help Groups. Annapoorna Jeevika Food Products Producer Company Ltd. was established in May 2025 as the Apex Producer Company for J-DKR, to provide strategic leadership for business expansion, quality assurance, procurement, branding, partnerships and operational support — enabling J-DKR to scale as a sustainable, women-owned social enterprise. The initiative is supported by PCI India as part of its partnership with Bihar SRLM to transform SHG women’s livelihoods in the non-farm sector.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Growth: Set and execute the business strategy for Annapoorna and the J-DKR network; build the expansion pipeline (Block, Sub-Divisional and Collectorate canteens); evaluate new ventures (cloud kitchens, catering, food trucks) and the acquisition of CLF-run canteens through a clear Go / No-Go policy.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance across all units (FSSAI, GST, TDS, trade licence, fire NOC); maintain a central compliance register; set up Board-level committees and build leadership and entrepreneurial capability of Board members.
  • Board Strengthening & Institutional Development: Strengthen the governance and institutional capacity of the Annapoorna Board through clearly defined roles and responsibilities, structured Board meetings, committee mechanisms, performance review systems, and targeted capacity-building to enable effective strategic oversight and decision-making.
  • Procurement & Supply Chain: Define raw-material standards, run price discovery against market/mandi rates, and establish centralized tendering, vendor empanelment and a rate database.
  • Operations & Service Excellence: Standardize menus, portions and costed recipes; introduce complaint registers and service standards; RAG-grade every unit and enforce corrective action, including closure of severely non-compliant canteens.
  • Financial Stewardship: Ensure complete books and bill records, control pilferage, deliver a roadmap for minimum 15% profitability, drive receivables recovery, mobilize acquisition and working capital (share capital, Jeevika Nidhi or institutional loans), and settle payouts, profits and dividends due to the Didis.
  • Public–Private Partnership & Government Liaisoning: Identify and facilitate strategic Public–Private Partnership (PPP) opportunities for Annapoorna/J-DKR, while maintaining effective liaison with State Government departments, district administration, public institutions, development partners and private-sector stakeholders to secure new business opportunities, institutional partnerships and scale-up support.
  • People, Technology & Oversight: Ensure canteen-manager / nodal coverage and KPI frameworks; enforce minimum-wage compliance and biometric attendance; run a training calendar (at least two sessions per employee); deploy MIS/ERP and live dashboards with same-day exception alerts.
