PCI India, a registered Indian society, has been working in India for the past 25 years. We drive interventions to transform the lives of communities at scale by solving complex development problems. About the Project
PCI India has been working with a focus on developing and demonstrating critical metrics in the designated districts of Sheikhpura, Katihar, Khagaria and Patna urban PHCs, which can become models of FP, MH, AH and Gender which, in turn, can be showcased, replicated, and scaled up in other geographies in the future. PMSMA, MDSR, LaQshya, SUMAN, FPLMIS, SHWP and WGFP etc are a critical focus area of this project. The primary objective of the project is Strengthening government systems and institutions to deliver comprehensive Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) Services and address Gender Based Violence and Harmful Practices against Women and girls by effective implementation of programmes, policies and laws.
This component is a collaborative initiative supported by UNFPA and implemented in partnership with Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) to promote inclusive, gender-responsive, and sustainable development in urban slums of Patna. The project aims to improve the quality of life of vulnerable urban communities through strengthened access to health and sanitation services, women’s empowerment, community participation, and enhanced municipal service delivery. Special emphasis is placed on promoting gender equality, strengthening the capacities and welfare of sanitation workers (Swacchanginis), fostering community-led slum development, and leveraging innovation and partnerships to build resilient, healthy, and inclusive urban communities.
The Role
Lead the planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of the Urban Slum Development Program in close collaboration with Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC), UNFPA, government departments, and community stakeholders to improve health, gender equality, sanitation, and inclusive development outcomes in urban slums.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead implementation of project activities in accordance with approved workplans and project objectives.
- Coordinate with PMC, government departments, UNFPA, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical oversight to project staff and ensure timebound completion of project deliverables as per the workplan.
- Ensure quality implementation of interventions related to gender, sexual and reproductive health, sanitation, stakeholder engagement, and slum development activities.
- Support planning and implementation of capacity-building program for elected representatives and sanitation workers, community engagement initiatives, and urban development activities.
- Prepare donor reports, presentations, documentation, success stories, and knowledge products.
- Facilitate monitoring visits and review meetings as per need.

Recruitment Process

The complete process usually takes 2–3 weeks. Candidates moving to the final round will hear from the People & Culture team. In‑person meetings are preferred, but virtual meetings are conducted where distance is a constraint.
