Qualification & Experience
- Graduate in any discipline from a recognised institution.
- Recommended: minimum 5 years of relevant experience in skill development, vocational training, education, livelihoods, rural development, manpower development or project management.
- Experience managing a training centre/project and multi-disciplinary team is preferred.
- Experience in DDU-GKY, PMKVY, State Skill Development Missions, NSDC, CSR skill-development or similar government/skill programmes is desirable.
- Working knowledge of MIS/ERP, MS Office/Google Workspace, training operations, placement and candidate lifecycle management.

Role Purpose
The Centre Head / Centre Manager will be the single-point operational owner of the DDU-GKY 2.0 Training Centre. The position is responsible for ensuring that the centre operates as a compliant, target-oriented, candidate-centric and placement-linked unit covering mobilisation, counselling, enrolment, training delivery, assessment, certification, placement, candidate welfare, MIS/ERP reporting and post-placement support.
Key Responsibilities.
Centre Operations & Project Delivery
- Manage the day-to-day functioning of the training centre and ensure implementation of the sanctioned project and approved work schedule.
- Prepare and monitor monthly operational plans covering mobilisation, enrolment, training, assessment, certification, placement and post-placement activities.
- Monitor target achievement and promptly escalate significant slippages, resource constraints or operational risks to the Project Head.
- Ensure adequate manpower, infrastructure, equipment, training materials and other operational resources are available.
- Coordinate with the Project Head, Operations, MIS, Finance, Placement, Mobilisation and Quality functions for seamless project execution.
Mobilisation, Counselling & Candidate Selection
- Coordinate with the mobilisation team to achieve approved mobilisation and enrolment targets.
- Facilitate coordination with SRLM/SSDM, local administration, Gram Panchayats, SHGs, community organisations and other stakeholders, as applicable.
- Ensure candidates receive accurate information on job roles, training, employment opportunities, wages, working conditions, career prospects and candidate entitlements.
- Ensure counselling, eligibility verification, documentation and candidate consent are completed before enrolment.
- Monitor candidate selection quality and minimise unsuitable enrolments and avoidable drop-outs.
Training Management
- Ensure timely commencement and completion of training as per the approved batch calendar.
- Ensure adequate and appropriately qualified trainers are deployed for every approved trade/job role.
- Monitor classroom and practical training, attendance, remedial training, English/communication, digital skills and employability skills.
- Ensure trainers follow approved curriculum, lesson plans and prescribed training methodology.
- Review trainer performance, trainee feedback and learning outcomes and initiate corrective action where required.
- Ensure readiness for assessment, certification and OJT/industry exposure wherever applicable.
MIS, ERP & Documentation
- Ensure accurate, timely and complete centre-level MIS/ERP reporting.
- Monitor trainee and trainer attendance and ensure prescribed attendance systems are operational.
- Ensure timely updating of candidate lifecycle data including enrolment, training, assessment, certification, placement and post-placement status.
- Maintain centre records, registers and supporting documentation required for monitoring, inspection and audit.
- Resolve discrepancies between physical records and ERP/MIS data in coordination with the MIS team.
Placement & Post-Placement
- Coordinate with the Placement Team to align training batches with employer requirements.
- Facilitate employer visits, interviews, recruitment drives and job fairs.
- Ensure candidates are prepared for interviews and employment.
- Track offers, joining, employer details, salary/wage documentation and placement evidence.
- Coordinate post-placement tracking and support, including early-dropout and retention cases.
- Escalate employer or candidate issues that may affect placement or retention.
Quality, Compliance & Inspection
- Ensure centre-level compliance with DDU-GKY 2.0 Guidelines, SOPs, sanction conditions and applicable instructions.
- Facilitate Q-Team inspections and provide required records, evidence and access to the centre.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions arising from Q-Team observations and other inspections.
- Ensure CCTV, attendance systems, ERP connectivity, training equipment and prescribed safety/welfare facilities remain functional.
- Maintain a high level of operational readiness for inspections, audits and reviews.
Candidate Welfare & Grievance Management
- Ensure a safe, respectful, inclusive and learner-friendly environment.
- Monitor residential/hostel arrangements, hygiene, sanitation, drinking water, food and other welfare facilities wherever applicable.
- Maintain a candidate grievance mechanism and ensure timely resolution and escalation of serious matters.
- Ensure appropriate support for women, PwD and other vulnerable or disadvantaged candidates.
Team Management
- Lead and supervise centre personnel, including trainers, MIS, mobilisation/counselling, placement and administrative/support staff.
- Allocate responsibilities, prepare duty rosters, conduct team reviews and monitor individual performance.
- Identify manpower gaps and training needs and escalate them in time.
- Maintain staff discipline, attendance and professional conduct.

Recruitment Process
- Applications will be shortlisted based on the criteria mentioned in the job description.
- The process may include a presentation of the assignment.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited for one or more rounds of panel interviews.
The complete process usually takes 2–3 weeks. Candidates moving to the final round will hear from the People & Culture team. In‑person meetings are preferred, but virtual meetings are conducted where distance is a constraint.
