The Role
The Capacity Building Expert will be based at DAY-NRLM lead efforts to strengthen knowledge and skill development across NRLM and SRLM systems for the effective integration of Food, Nutrition, Health, and WASH (FNHW) into SHG institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Capacity Building for Community-Led FNHW Integration
- Design and implement an iterative capacity-building strategy tailored to the maturity of Cluster Level Federations (CLFs).
- Facilitate participatory planning, embedded mentorship, and structured reviews to strengthen SHG-level ownership of Food, Nutrition, Health, and WASH (FNHW) initiatives.
- Develop and Curate a Thematic Digital Toolkit
- Lead the development of a modular digital IEC toolkit covering emerging FNHW themes such as NCDs, mental health, and disability inclusion.
- Oversee creation of multimedia content suitable for low-bandwidth, multilingual, and low-literacy contexts.
- Coordinate field testing, content refinement, and strategic dissemination through existing SHG channels and platforms.
- Support Development of an Accessible e-LMS Platform
- Contribute to the design of a multilingual, adaptive e-Learning Management System (e-LMS) aligned with SHG and SRLM learning needs.
- Ensure integration of role-based content, offline compatibility, and features to recognize learner progress through badges or certification.
- Facilitate Visioning and Block-Level Action Planning
- Lead participatory visioning workshops with CLFs and VOs to translate FNHW goals into actionable local plans.
- Align planning processes with state-level health, nutrition, and WASH priorities and introduce standard planning tools to support implementation.
- Strengthen Institutional Capacity and Ownership
- Support SRLMs to embed training systems and learning tools into their regular operations.
- Promote shared ownership and co-creation of capacity-building processes to ensure sustainability and responsiveness to field realities.
- Collaborate on Learning Metrics and Credentialing
- Define learning indicators and work with M&E and digital teams to track user engagement and progress.
- Contribute to development of a credentialing framework to motivate learners and formalize knowledge pathways within the SHG ecosystem.
- Facilitate Knowledge Sharing and Peer Learning
- Organize cross-learning events, workshops, and peer exchanges to scale promising capacity-building models.
- Represent PCI in relevant forums and contribute to documentation and dissemination of best practices.
Essential Qualification
- MBBS/ BDS/ AYUSH with MPH/ master’s in health management
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in designing and implementing large-scale capacity-building programs in health and/or nutrition.
- Proven experience in training module development, instructional design, and participatory learning approaches.
- Strong understanding of India’s public health and nutrition programs.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with government systems and navigate multi-sectoral coordination.
- Experience in digital learning solutions and e-learning platforms.
- Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation tools for capacity-building programs.
