India stands at a defining moment in its development journey. As the country advances toward the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 alongside its commitment to Net-Zero emissions by 2070, the challenge is how economic growth and climate action can reinforce one another to create resilient livelihoods, inclusive growth, competitive enterprises, and sustainable communities. India’s path to prosperity must be built on resilient, productive and equitable growth. Achieving this requires transitioning from isolated, single-organisation interventions to a unified national development framework capable of systemic, multi-state replication.
Climate change is already affecting agricultural productivity, energy systems, and labour markets, while the transition to a low-carbon economy presents unprecedented opportunities for innovation, employment generation, enterprise development, and inclusive growth. Realising these opportunities requires interconnected approaches that recognise the nexus between climate resilience, livelihoods, finance, industry, technology, and governance.
