Dr Ilham Zaidi
Senior Manager – National Programme Officer (One Health & Surveillance)
Dr Ilham Zaidi is a dentist by training and an active public health researcher. He brings extensive experience in infectious diseases and public health surveillance, having worked across tuberculosis, neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs), vector-borne diseases (VBDs), COVID-19, and other communicable disease control and surveillance initiatives. As a public health researcher, he has led several pioneering studies in India, contributing to evidence generation in infectious diseases, determinants of healthcare, health systems, and public health surveillance.
Prior to joining PCI India, Dr Zaidi served at AIIMS, New Delhi, and held positions with WHO SEARO, SAATHII, REACH, PATH, UNDP, The George Institute for Global Health, Tata Trusts, and other leading public health organisations.
Dr Zaidi holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, and a Master of Public Health from the Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies (AMCHSS), SCTIMST, Thiruvananthapuram. He is further strengthening his public health expertise by pursuing an MBA in Healthcare Administration at the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi.
