About the Project:
She Shines – Empowering the Girls: The project adopts a life-cycle approach targeting three age groups: 0–5 years (Early Childhood), 6–12 years (Growing Minds), and 13–18 years (Emerging Adulthood). This is a comprehensive intervention program across the catchment areas of 10 of its production units of HINDALCO, spread across six states—Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Odisha, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.
The program is expected to directly benefit 50,000 girls across 534 villages over three years with the aim of transforming the status of girl children and contribute to significant improvements in their education access, nutrition and health outcomes, menstrual hygiene, digital safety, and adolescent empowerment. This project is supported by Hindalco under its CSR initiative, and the project geography is spread across its production units in seven states.
The Position
The Unit Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing project implementation at the unit level, ensuring effective execution of activities across villages, strong engagement with government stakeholders, and quality supervision of village volunteers.
10 Unit Coordinators are required across 10 HINDALCO unit locations which are – Renukoot in Uttar Pradesh, Renusagar in Uttar Pradesh, Lohardaga in Jharkhand, Birla Copper in Gujarat, Lapanga in Odisha, Hirakud in Odisha, Doraguda in Odisha, Mahan in Madhya Pradesh, Taloja in Maharashtra and Belgaum in Karnataka.
Key Responsibilities
Field Implementation & Coordination
- Lead implementation of project activities across assigned villages in line with approved work plans and protocols.
- Supervise and support village volunteers, ensuring regular activities at AWCs, schools, SHGs, and VHSND platforms.
- Ensure integration of life-cycle–based interventions for girls aged 0–18 years.
Stakeholder Engagement, Training & Convergence
- Build strong working relationships with block- and district-level officials from ICDS, Health, Education, and SRLM.
- Facilitate trainings, campaigns, and community events in coordination with frontline workers (AWWs, ASHAs, teachers).
- Support activation of government schemes and entitlements for girls and their families.
Community Engagement & Social Mobilization
- Support community campaigns focusing on nutrition, education, menstrual hygiene, gender norms, and adolescent agency.
- Encourage participation of families, male members, and community leaders through regular interaction and meetings.
Monitoring, Reporting & Quality Assurance
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of field activities through the MIS.
- Conduct regular field visits and quality checks to ensure adherence to protocols and communication standards.
- Participate in monthly review meetings and contribute to problem-solving and adaptive planning.

Competency, Skills and Experience
- At least a Graduate in any relevant field.
- 3-5 years of field level experience in community-based development programs, for junior unit coordinator.
- 5+ years of field level experience in community-based development programs for senior unit coordinator.
- Understanding of government schemes related to ICDS, RKSK, WIFS, School Health Programme, and girls’ education, at the ground level
- Ability to collaborate and coordinate at different levels with the donor, stakeholders and project teams.
- Proficient in at least one of the regional languages – (Hindi, Odiya, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada)
- Ability to work on MS Office (word, excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to guide, handhold and manage community level cadres.
- Possess a two-wheeler for field work
- Willingness to travel extensively within the unit and work closely with communities.

Recruitment Process
