India’s e-waste ecosystem is at an inflection point on account of rapid digitisation, shorter product
lifecycles, rising consumption of electronics and Government of India’s increasing focus on resource security and critical minerals. Urban centres like Bengaluru, with high electronics penetration and institutional waste generation, can be deemed as priority geographies for demonstrating scalable, compliant models of e-waste channelization and value recovery.
Recognising the dual need to build inclusive, decentralized models to achieve environmental outcomes along with building dignified employment for marginalised women, PCI India has initiated a model called Naari Circuit, keeping women from Self-Help Groups and waste picking communities in focus.
By bringing together cutting-edge environmental practices and the energy of women changemakers, we are building pathways towards responsible recycling.
We believe that every discarded gadget is more than junk—it’s an opportunity for transformation, both for our environment and for the women at the heart of every community
