About the Position:

Position Summary:
The Accounts Officer, Global Fund (Malaria) is a key role in the New Delhi team, reporting to the Deputy Lead – Finance/ Sr. Manager Grants. This limited-duration position oversees financial management for Global Fund grant implementation, including transaction verification, reporting, budgeting, and audit support. The role involves managing finances, conducting reviews, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, analytical skills, and communication abilities, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
Experience Required:

Desirable: Semi – Qualified Chartered Accountant, Management Accountant, or MBA from reputed university/institute with 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in similar organisational/functional context related to Global Fund grant.

Mandatory: Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of work experience
Competencies and Skills:
Strong knowledge of various financial software like Microsoft Dynamics/ Tally.
Must have demonstrated experience in developing linked data spreadsheets/models and using features such as formula auditing, pivot tables, shortcut-keys, and frequently used in-built excel formulas. Experience with Excel macro development will be an added advantage.
Demonstrated skills in reviewing/interpreting reports and in developing narrative analysis with appropriate follow up actions.
Should have strong accounting knowledge, and analytical/problem solving skills.
Rigorous and detail-oriented with an ability to multi-task and work effectively in adverse and fast paced work environment.
Ability to coach both finance and non-finance people on financial issues including budgeting & internal controls.
Fluency in spoken and written English language with high verbal/written communication skills.
Good knowledge of using MS Office tools (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
Excellent planning and prioritization skills and ability to work independently.
Ability to adjust and perform in a dynamic team environment and be a strong team player.

The Role
Responsibilities
Review and post the accounting entries/ bills/payments processed by accountant/ accounts associate related to Global Fund.
Verify all transactions with budgets, approvals and reports before getting approved for payment.
Ensure organizational and project related bookkeeping / accounting work and maintenance of all associated records.
Prepare and submit financial monthly / quarterly/annual statements to the supervisor.
Support Deputy Lead Finance in preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flows.
Support in preparation of annual financial reports (AFR)as required for donor audits.
Provide guidance/training to program team on approved budgets, reporting requirements, variance reporting etc.
Support Deputy Lead to mitigate financial risks by providing continuous oversight and promptly addressing any financial issues that arise.
Provide adequate support during internal, statutory audits and LFA Reviews.
Ensure compliance with grant requirements and preparing for audits. Also ensure that all financial records are meticulously maintained and readily available for audits, reducing the risk of non-compliance.
Collaborate with project managers to develop, monitor, and adjust budgets as needed, ensuring that funds are allocated efficiently and in line with project goals.
Conduct regular financial analysis to assess the project’s financial performance, identify variances, and recommend cost-saving measures.
Provide insights to Deputy Finance Lead to support for taking informed decision and enhance the project’s financial sustainability.
Prepare Bank reconciliation statement and Fund reconciliation related to Global Fund on monthly basis.
Coordinate with Admin team for fixed asset register and ensure it get submitted with donor on timely basis.
Coordinate with HR team for timesheets of staff working under the project and ensure it get submitted with donor on timely basis.
Maintain repository of all donor communications and approval during the project tenure.
Overall, comply with requirements of the organization as may be relevant for the project.
Any other task as assigned by supervisor/Deputy Finance Lead/ Team Lead.
